This Article covers what Address records are used for, noting their different purposes using the Type field. We also have a brief 2-minute video to follow along with.
Address - an object related to Accounts, Contacts, Sales Appointments, Sales and Projects.
One Account or Contact can have multiple Address records. Perhaps they have multiple properties, or you are meeting with the Contact at your Showroom for their Sales Appointment but the install will be performed at their residence. Multiple Address records can be used to note multiple locations for the Account and/or Contact.
NOTE: Vendor record type fields will be different than Customer fields. Some fields will behave differently. For example, the Address fields for Vendor Accounts behave differently than the fields on the Address object records. There is no address verification built into the native Salesforce fields on the account page, however Salesforce does provide address suggestions from Google. improveit 360 implores address verification on the Address object to ensure when scheduling Sales Appointments and Projects that your staff is going to a legitimate verified street address.
Billing Address and Shipping Address suggestions on the Account record for Vendors and Lenders are populated via Google data.
Whereas, the data populated on the Address record is populated via SmartyStreets data.
