improveit 360 Console for Lightning comes out-of-the-box with three User Profiles, configured specifically for the improveit 360 Console app.
Your organization will want to determine if these Profile fit your general Usership, or if additional custom Profiles are needed to accommodate your Users.
Watch this 7.5 minute video on Object Permissions, Tab Settings, Field Access and System Permissions. Follow along with the Article below to see what settings the Out-of-the Box User Profiles contain.
Tab Settings
Let's first discuss how Tab settings are used in the application. When a User is trying to navigate to a specific object type, they will search in the App Launcher menu. The Tabs available when they search are Tabs set to "visible" on their Profile. For example, if the Accounting Dept Users need to see and enter Loans, they will likely need access to the Loans tab, and the records in the Loans object.
Below are the Object Tab settings for each out-of-the-box Profile:
Next, let's discuss Object Permissions and how those are used.
- "Read" - Users can see records of that Object
- "Read" and "Edit" - Users can see and update information on the records
- "Read", "Edit" and "Create" - Users can see records, update records and create new records
- "Read", "Edit", "Create" and "Delete" - Users would be able to also delete records from that object
- "View All" - regardless of Global Object Sharing Settings Users will be able to see all records of this object
- "Modify All"- regardless of Global Object Sharing Settings Users will be able to see and update all records of this object
Note: If you are creating custom profiles for your team, please take a look at this related article. It covers the level of access which is needed on each Object for the feature to function properly.
